Paula is a contemporary artist. She draws inspiration from Expressionism. Her favorite subjects are abstract portraits and figures. Picasso, Braque, and de Kooning are listed among her favorites. She also works in clay, hand building small-scale figure sculptures.

Paula's art is the abstract representation of people and emotion. She captures the sense of solemnity, fun, mystery, and raw emotions that we all experience in life into all her work. Her goal is to convey to the viewer the emotion that was behind each piece. It doesn't matter what the emotion is, what matters is that the work evokes an emotion. She is not bound to a particular medium or style. She selects the medium and style that will best convey what she wants to achieve with each work.

"I don't paint to be recognized, I paint to be alive." Paula A. Jones
